After trying to find a translation or a Romanized version of this Korean song about children walking to school with umbrellas, I finally found the Hangul text. I had to get creative doing a search in Google without being able to type Hangul (or necessarily understanding all that much Korean for that matter – if I know what I’m looking for, I can find it; but while I can sound out a paragraph placed in front of me, don’t ask me to understand it).Anyways, since I was unable to find either the Romanized or translated versions of this song, I am posting my versions here.So here it is – the Korean Umbrella Song:in Hangul –
-
Romanized –
이슬비 내리는
이른 아침에
우산 셋이 나란히
걸어갑니다.
파란 우산
깜장 우산
찢어진 우산
좁다란 학교길에
우산 세 개가
이마를 마주 대고
걸어갑니다
Isulbi naerinun
Irun achimae
Usan saeshi naranghi
Kolo kamnida.
Paran usan
Gamjang usan
Jichojin usan
Joepdaran hakyokirae
Usan sae gae ga
Imarul maju daego
Kolo kamnida
Translation –
Rain is falling lightly
Early in the day,
And these three umbrellas are
Going on a walk.
Blue umbrella,
Black umbrella,
Tattered umbrella.
In the street going to school,
Three to an umbrella,
Squished up face against forehead
Going on a walk.
And a video of a cute little Korean girl singing the song.
